Mr. Kalmis is an internationally accredited hands-on business continuity professional with a proven record of accomplishments, including managing successful recoveries from major business disruptions. He has been a senior executive with responsibilities for the development and operation of several highly successful corporate business continuity organizations. Mr. Kalmis is a Senior Consultant with Eagle Rock Alliance.

Mr. Kalmis brings more than thirty-five years of business continuity experience to Eagle Rock Alliance having been a key player in the recoveries of both the 1993 World Trade Center Bombing and Downtown Chicago Flood. Prior to founding Larry Kalmis Associates, Mr. Kalmis served as Director of the Risk Management and Business Continuity Solutions consulting practice for another major professional services firm and as Director of Business Development and as Special Liaison to state and local governments. He has done significant work in the area of overall emergency management, including the development of private/public sector partnerships and was one of few private-sector participants in the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Response 98 natural hazard simulation exercise.

As Vice President, Corporate Business Continuity Management, for one of the United States' five largest banks for more than ten years, Mr. Kalmis developed and implemented the corporation's business continuity and crisis response processes. He introduced rigorous testing of network components and integrated applications with full business participation and was a leader in the use of electronic vaulting and end user recovery. He supervised the design and construction of the bank's one-thousand seat end user business recovery facility, an $11,000,000 project, and thereafter managed the facility.

Mr. Kalmis also managed Business Continuity for a major insurance company for more than seven years. While there, he developed, implemented and tested plans to provide recovery for all major corporate business systems. This unit provided protection for mainframe, midrange, and personal computer environments in the United States and Canada.

Mr. Kalmis is an author and a frequent presenter at domestic and international conferences. He has developed and conducted major disaster simulation exercises. He has served on the Planning Subcommittee of the NY State Disaster Preparedness Commission Hazard Mitigation Policy Committee, the Private Sector Committee of the National Emergency Managers' Association (NEMA), and the New York Clearing House Contingency Planning Committee.
